Settlements

Settlements fall into three categories: Villages, Towns, and Cities.

Only basic settlement options are available in a Village. Special locations can only be found in Towns and Cities.

To get access to a special location in a Town or City, roll 2d6 or 3d6 respectively and get a 7+.

When shopping, most items require a stock check. Roll 1d6, 2d6, or 3d6 depending on the size of the settlement and compare it to the stock check target to see if the item is available.

While in a Settlement, each player does the following:

1. Choose a settlement location
a. If necessary, roll to get access to the location
2. Resolve the settlement activity
3. Roll for a random settlement event
4. Pay your living expenses (1, 2, or 3 gold in a Village, Town, or City)

With the exception of the Gambling House, each location may be visited only once during a Settlement visit.
