Fortune and Misfortune

To encourage tactical play, creative actions, and circumstance modifiers, we’ll be using Fortune & Misfortune Dice from the WFRP3 system (but in a special way).

Whenever there is something favorable to an action (such as flank, outnumbering an opponent, opponent being prone, etc.) the action gains a Fortune Die to the roll.

The blank faces have no effect. The Hammers adds +0.5 to the roll, and the Eagle adds +1. (A natural ‘1’ is still an auto-failure.)

Whenever this is some circumstance that makes things more difficult (such as being ill, outnumbered, prone, dazed, etc.) the action gains a Misfortune Die to the roll.

The blank faces have no effect. The Crossed Swords subtract -0.5 to the roll, and the Skull subtracts -1.

THE HERO RULE
Always round to the nearest whole number in favor of the player. For example, if a player is attacking an enemy and rolls a 2 + Hammer, the 2.5 is rounded up to 3, in the player’s favor. If the player was being attacked and the enemy rolled a 2 + Hammer, the 2.5 would be rounded down to 2, in the player’s favor.
